Jill Scott uses spoken word in a way in which, she sound as if she singing but reading a poem at the same time. Each song has storyline that a huge amount can relate with. She talks about the daily issues she has to face being a black women in today society.  The reason why i began to listen to Jill scott is because of the way she embraces and accepts who she is, and i'm so inspired by the way she became that confident of who she was. The other reason was her musicality vocal dynamics, as well as instrumental for her songs are extremely soulful and connects with me. She uses so many Diminished and unique chords that sound so beautiful.
